We couldn’t get a hotel room near the SECC so we took a chance on the apartment and weren’t disappointed.

3/4,of a mile from Oran Mor we chose these apartments because it was close to the venue, parking and offered good value for money. It delivered on all counts. Plenty of on street free parking , it was great value and walking distance to Oran Mor but get a taxi back if out late it should cost around £6 including tip. The room was large, nicely decorated had a kitchen and also free wi-fi. You did have to check out by 10:30 which is a bit early……..after a late evening. Overall great evening.

Stayed November 2015, travelled as a couple

We stayed in apartment 6 for one night in November 2015. Free street parking was available just outside the premises in a really lovely neighbourhood. Staff were very warm and friendly, and check in was quick and straightforward. Our apartment had everything we needed. The main room was spacious, well furnished and comfortable, the small kitchen was fine for our needs and the bathroom was clean, with an adequate shower and good-sized bath. We really enjoyed staying at White House Apartments and would happily return for a longer stay

We only stayed one night at this lovely hotel / apartment, but should have planned for more. This hotel is in a wonderful residential section of the West End. It had a compact, but very functional kitchen. Our view was perfect and the apartment nicely apointed. Our only regret is that we did not stay long enough. We will return!

My husband and I have stayed in the Whitehouse before a few years ago and enjoyed it so much we decided to return whilst visiting family in Glasgow. Our main reasons for choosing it are the lovely leafy location in a quiet and pretty street, whilst being only 15/20 mins walk along to the vibrant Byres Road shops and restaurants and subway station into the city. My husband also enjoys a morning run through the nearby Botanic Gardens. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and have upgraded us on two occasions when they have had the availability. The building is a combination of around 3 Georgian terraces that have been joined and then divided up into various configurations. The apartments have a home away from home feel and are much roomier than a standard hotel room, with the convenience of having your own kitchenette – even the small studios. The apartments are mostly traditionally furnished and all have their own style and layout with sizes of kitchens and bathrooms varying quite a bit. The rooms at the front have a more attractive outlook over the private Cleveden Crescent gardens. Admittedly some of the apartments have been refurbished and some have not and the ones that haven’t been could definitely do with a refresh/refurbish of at least the carpets and lounges. There is free wi-fi in all the apartments and also a free laundry room – you only have to supply your own detergent or can by a small bag from reception for about 50p! There is a small M&S Express a 5 min walk away on Gt Western Rd for quick grocery purchases, and a large Morrisons or Tesco about a 10min drive away. We split our stay in two as we went off for 3 nights to visit Islay (the whisky Isle). The first apartment was Room 30 (small studio) which was up one short flight of stairs and facing the back. Whilst the view wasn’t ideal, it was light and leafy and pleasant enough looking over the back courtyard. The size of the combined lounge/bed area, kitchen and bathroom were all fine. The 2nd week we were ‘upgraded’ to Room 5 (double studio) up 1.5 flights of stairs at the front of the building which overlooked the gardens. The combined lounge/bed area was larger, but it needed a little refreshing of carpets, curtains and sofa. The kitchen was tiny and the bathroom fine but dark. There was a lot of noise from the apartment above which wasn’t ideal. The apartments are a very economical choice for longer stays and we will definitely be staying again, and have no hesitation in recommending them.

The apartment was situated i a beautiful, old, Victorian building in Glasgow.

Three terraced houses have been joined together leaving interesting nooks, crannies and small staircases every where. It is in a very quiet area and I saw or heard no other guests, great!!

Booked last minute via ‘late rooms’. What a find, this will be where we stay in Glasgow from now on. We stayed in Apartment 21, top of 3 flights of stairs, opened the door to a HUGE one bedroom apartment. Beautiful large bathroom, separate kitchen, lovely comfortable bedroom with walk in wardrobe, wifi, DVD, CD, great TV….absolutely nothing to criticise. If you really pushed me – a couple of pillows for the sofa, and the bedroom skylight lets lots of light in if you like a dark room in the morning! How good id that that thats all I can think of. It is out from the city centre a mile or so, but near the Kelvingrove Museum, and Botanic Gardens (beautiful). and so so quiet. Free on street parking. Five stars deserved from me. We’ll be back plenty!

I booked here recently for a weekend getaway and had a great time. The apartments are in a nice, quiet area in Glasgow’s West End and the unusually summer late September day was a bonus I didn’t expect. I had booked a small studio, expecting everything in 1 room with a small but conspicuous kitchen area in the corner. I was most pleasantly surprised to find the small studio is actually a decent sized room with a separate kitchen and bathroom with a bath – not just a shower. The man at reception was friendly and helpful and was happy to show me the back gardens. Unfortunately my alarm clock failed the next morning, but I was granted an extra half hour to vacate without any problem. I would definitely stay at these apartments again

Huge, beautifully furnished room in great west end setting. Very clean, quiet and spacious, but only short walk to West End (great Western road/Byers Road)

We decided to stay at the Whitehouse as we could book self catering (rather than a hotel) for our holiday and we loved it. The standard of accommodation was very high and we were very impressed by the staff from the outset, sorting a booking error by immediately upgrading us without any fuss or question; quite superb. The accommodation was sparkling clean, well decorated and furnished to a very high standard. The bathroom was huge as was the living room and the kitchen was a good size too. The bedrooms had plenty of space and the beds themselves were very comfortable. The location was perfect as Cleveden Crescent is gorgeous, tucked away in the vibrant West End yet close to the City Centre. As a bonus it is very easy to access the Highlands from here as well. Finally our thanks to the staff of the Whitehouse for helping to make our week nothing short of fantastic. I have no doubt that we will be back

On a tranquil crescent just west of the Botanical Gardens, this well-managed group of Victorian town houses has more than 30 apartments—studios to two bedrooms—that can be rented from a night to as long as a year, with considerable reductions along the way. The apartments are spacious and individually decorated, with kitchens and living areas with sofas and chairs. Some are more contemporary than others, but it’s hard to beat the space, views, location, or the peace and quiet—not to mention the surprisingly good value. The lobby is very Scottish, with tartan carpets, and elaborate chandeliers pepper the corridors and stairways. The helpful staff can point you in any direction you need to go.

Liked the hotel design, very nice. Also very quiet neighbourhood. Quite High standard

Easy to find, easy access to Byres Road and therefore easy access to city centre via tube station. Good facilities within the apartment, very comfortable and clean. Liked everything about it.

It was really unusual – the décor was brilliant, and keeping with type of house.

I stayed here for a research trip for four nights and couldn’t have asked for better accommodation and service from the staff. A very friendly male porter/staff member went over and above the call of duty to ensure my stay was comfortable. The accommodation was slightly outside the main city centre but was a 10 minute walk to the trendy west end haunt Byres Rd. I’d recommend for slightly longer stays as opposed to just one eve.

The best self-catering accommodation in the West End of Glasgow, fabulous location, fantastic building, lots of character, each apartment is quite different.

If accommodation makes or breaks your holiday, then this is the place to stay, soak up the atmosphere, relax and enjoy. Super friendly team ensure you have everything you need. We live in Melbourne, travel a lot and have stayed in quite a few self-catering apartments. The White House is the favourite by far and just gets better. Scottish hospitality at it’s best. Would recommend to anyone.

I am a Scot, from the west end of Glasgow, living in Austin, Texas and when I travel home, I love staying at The Whitehouse. I have family and friends who live on all sides of Glasgow and from the apartments, it is easy to get to see everyone. The fact that there are so many great places to eat, and public transport is right there, what’s not to love.. The apartments are spacious with great and have everything you need to self cater. If you want more service, you can add it on for an extra charge. Staff are super friendly and very helpful if you need it. There are night staff who are great, nothing is too much to ask. My family and I have stayed here for the past 12 years when going home. That’s it, a home away from home :)

    “Quirky, but very nice”

Caroline, the manager couldn’t have been more helpful. We arrived after an all night flight and she and her staff did everything they could to get us into our flat. It was comfortable, although the shower was in our friends’ bedroom.
The location was great – right off the bus line, although Caroline drove Nancy and me to see the arboretum.

Stayed August 2012 – Would definitely stay there if we get the chance to visit Glasgow again. We loved Glasgow!
